3 Top Locations for Canmore Wedding Portraits
As a Canmore licensed wedding photography and videography duo, often couples will ask us what are some of the best locations for photos. Now, there are many more locations than just these 3 listed but I would say from my experience these are the top 3 and often most requested. 1) Rundle Forebay
This beautiful spot sits along the edge of the Canmore Reservoir, with Mount Rundle towering in the background. The contrast between the still, reflective waters and the rugged mountain peaks creates a breathtaking scene that’s hard to beat. This location is popular in the summer for paddle boarders and picnicers so be prepared for that!
2) Van Horne
beautiful meadows. Perfect for couples who want a more natural and spacious backdrop, this location is perfect for photos that capture the vastness and beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Whether you’re walking hand-in-hand through the grassy fields or simply gazing at the panoramic mountain views, Van Horne Field offers an authentic, down-to-earth atmosphere that complements any wedding style. It’s also a fantastic location if you’re aiming for those sunset or golden hour shots.
3)3 Sisters
There are a few locations around Canmore where you can see the iconic 3 sister mountains - but if you’re willing to walk 10 minutes this little spot is usually pretty quiet and stunning with a nice open view of the mountainscape. Depending if it’s winter or summer, the water may be beautiful and frozen or open for reflections. I just recommend bringing some extra shoes!
